At the end of the war, Bosnia-Herzegovina found itself amongst the top 5 countries to be plagued with landmines.

In 2000 MIRACLES UK launched an appeal to finance the construction of a prosthesis center. With the acquisition of a site near Mostar in 2004, work commenced on the MIRACLES CENTRE.
The centre officially opened its doors on the 1st of April 2009.
THE MIRACLES CENTRE is run by a Bosnian NGO, DIVITA-MIRACLES under the direction of Elvira Dugalic, with the help of Nihad Subasic, our Certified Prosthetist (CPO), Amel Mrkonjic, our prosthetic assistant and Adnan Safro, our administrative officer.
